About Nature Cowichan

Naturalists live in the midst of a global environmental crisis. Not surprisingly, new definitions are being forged for the ‘modern’ naturalist who must now take part in conserving the species and habitats he or she enjoys observing. They must take their knowledge of the natural world beyond just a personal interest and interpret it for the politicians and the public so that conservation may become a guiding principle rather than an afterthought.

We offer a variety of programming for the general public. If you’d like to get involved, please consider supporting us or becoming a member.

Join us for evening presentations on zoom! On the third Tuesday of the month, September to November and January to May at 7:30 pm. Everyone welcome. Please email cvns@naturecowichan.net for the links. (Members get links sent automatically!)

We hold coffee hour presentations at 9:30 am on the first Monday of the month, October to May. Everyone is welcome to join us at the Fish Health Building, 1080 Wharncliffe Road, Duncan.

We also host guided introductory nature walks. Please join our Nature News mailing list to be informed of when the next one is happening!

Our Nature News email list aims to keep everyone in the Valley informed about all sorts of nature-related events  – and you don’t have to be a Nature Cowichan member to receive it. Please email cvns@naturecowichan.net to subscribe.

Consider becoming a member to receive the Valley Naturalist newsletter, get zoom links directly in your inbox, and higher priority for guided introductory nature walks and other events.

For more information about our programs or to provide feedback, please contact us! If you’ve got questions about events on the event calendar, please contact the organizers directly (contact information should be in the event details).
